In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Sony Playstation, the company has announced a limited edition grey version of the Sony PS4.

The original Playstation made its debut on December 3, 1994, and the gaming console became an immediate hit among gamers, while helping usher in a new era of high-graphics, high-performance gaming.

The new 20th Anniversary PS4 features the “original grey” that adorned the first Playstation console.

The company has created 12,300 units (to reflect the launch date) and they will sell with a €499 ($616) price tag.

In a blog post on the company’s website, Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, wrote, “The original PlayStation was meant to embody that sense of adventure and discovery, that sense that anything was possible.”

Sony’s gaming console has come a long way over the last 20 years. The new systme features an X86 processor and enhanced PC GPU. The 20th anniversary PS4 also arrives with 8GB of high-speed unified memory and system memory backed by local storage.

The revamped DualShock 4 controller is also featured in the same grey coloring scheme.
