Here’s Jay Shapiro, CEO of AppMakr.
KR: How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
JS: Four.
KR: Four. Who’s your favorite entrepreneur?
JS: Bill Gross from Idealab.
KR: Interesting. What’s the last thing that you do before you go to bed?
JS: It’s going to sound cheesy. I like at my wife and I’m thankful for all the things that happened…
KR: It’s not cheesy at all – it’s awesome. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
JS: I spend time with my kids, get them off to school and then start making lists.
KR: Making lists?
JS: I’m a compulsive list maker.
KR: What’s your favorite animal?
JS: The slow loris.
KR: I don’t even know what that is! What rule do you live by?
JS: Ummm. If you’re not living on the edge you are taking up too much space.
KR: On a scale of one to ten how do you rank yourself as being weird?
JS: 11.
KR: (Laughs). How do you describe yourself with one word? Just one word?
JS: (pause) Flexible.
KR: What is your biggest achievement?
JS: Umm. The livelihood I’ve created for hundreds of families in the employees of the companies I’ve started over the years.
KR: I like that a lot. OK. What is your favorite movie or TV show?
JS: (whispers) I don’t watch TV (louder) I don’t even have a TV, how’s that for embarrassing?
KR: last one – what is your favorite brand?
JS: (buzzer sounds) That’s a really tough one. OK, OK, I was impressed by Nissan just this week.
