An update to the Yahoo Mail mobile app that was just issued will help you track your purchases while they’re on their way to you. You can track packages from Amazon, eBay, Zappos, Target, and other companies in the Yahoo Today section of the mobile app. When your goods are shipped out, Yahoo Mail will send you a notification. You’ll also be notified when the goods are scheduled to arrive.
As well as the ability to track shipments, the update to the Yahoo Mail mobile app gives users more control over what content – a mixture of posts from Yahoo’s many sites – is displayed in Yahoo Today. The gear icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen reveals the Edit Yahoo Today option when clicked. This enables users to choose a few categories which define what news will get displayed in their Today feed.
This update to the Yahoo Mail mobile app is just one of Yahoo’s latest moves in building a tailored user experience. Since CEO Marissa Mayer’s promise in her third quarter earnings call that the company will work towards personalizing their user experience as well as building a narrative around mobile products, Yahoo has been rolling out a number of personalization features. Some examples are flight and event notifications, and a personalized news feed that runs alongside your mail inbox.
