But why do people care so much about one story? Why do they keep sharing and performing it year after year? This tale makes people feel something. We can all relate to it, whether you’ve found yourself slipping away from the Christmas spirit or you’ve been burdened by someone else who has. Creating a relatable, touching story is an incredible thing to do.

This song still makes me cry every time I hear it, and I’ve probably listened to it over a hundred times. It tells a story could make Scrooge himself feel something. The song paints a picture of this shop and you can feel yourself in line at the checkout right behind this boy trying to buy shoes for his mom.

Our stories can be unconventional. They don’t need to follow a certain form or layout in order to impact those around us. Sometimes, it’s the nontraditional stories that we remember most.

Your Christmas Story 

No story is more authentic than your own and no one can tell it better than you. Each year, you and your family or friends create memories. The only way to keep these memories alive is by telling your stories.

We can learn a lot from our own stories. Which ones do you remember the most? Pick apart the details of those stories and I bet you’ll start to see a trend. We all want to feel something whether it’s love, anger, happiness or sadness. When a story lets those emotions flow into the audience’s mind, they’ve successfully told a story.

In public relations, we create original, meaningful content in order to keep information circulating. It can be easy to forget why we’re writing or sharing these stories, but taking a step back and remembering our favorite stories is always a good motivation. Stories can go on for years, but it’s up to us to make that happen.
