Every year 40 babies in the United States are accidentally left in their vehicles by their parents. In extreme heat and cold conditions those children are tragically killed, leaving behind a distraught family and in some cases a criminal investigation. Enter the Intel Smart Clip.
The gadget, set for a late 2015 release and debuted at CES 2015, clips to your child’s car seat harness and sends out alerts if the child is left in their car seat when the vehicle is not in motion.
Currently the Intel Smart Clip connects to Android devices, with an iOS app slated for release when the clip goes on sale to the general public.
The app transmits important data, including the current temperature in the drivers car, along with a battery indicator to ensure that the device is always charged and protecting your child.
When your child is left behind, a warning alert you via your smartphone or tablet device:
