Facebook’s New Resource for Businesses image Facebook for Business.pngFacebook for BusinessIt’s no secret that one of Facebook’s main goals right now is pleasing advertisers and potential advertisers. Businesses. Brands.

Keeping them happy makes Facebook money, which is what investors want to see happening. Unsurprisingly, pleasing investors is also a huge goal right now for Facebook.

What are they doing to make Facebook marketing easier for businesses? Lots of things. They’re working on streamlining their advertising offerings. They’re rolling out a new version of Facebook Insights.

But their latest offering, announced Thursday, July 25, is a complete resource hub for businesses, called Facebook for Business.

Announced in a blog post, the new site will be “the central destination for the news, information and inspiration that marketers can use to drive business results with Facebook.” It aims to become the go-to spot for companies of all sizes looking for information on Facebook marketing. The site is still in beta and will be developed more over the next few months, but there’s already a lot there. So far, the site has:

  • A “Getting Started” section with specific pages on different business goals, from driving in-store sales to increasing online purchases to brand and product awareness. There’s also a Facebook Basics page and a video page called Facebook Business Live.
  • A “Solutions” section with dedicated pages for every product (pages, advertising, advanced advertising, platform, and measurement and insights) with additional links to resources found on each page. There are also industry-specific resource pages found under this section.
  • My favorite section, Success Stories. Businesses can learn from the success of others by reading case studies of other Facebook marketers. The companies featured range from large brands like Volvo and Domino’s Pizza to small businesses like Sweet Cheeks Diaper Company and State Bicycle Company. The 56 (as of right now) case studies in this section highlight all kinds of different goals and tactics that businesses on Facebook have and use.
  • A “Get Help” section with support information and links to the Help Center, community, and information on their Preferred Marketing Developers program.
  • A Facebook for Business News section so marketers have an official place to go for the latest products, tips, and trends.

Obviously, on the open web, such resources already existed. Just Google “how to start a Facebook ad campaign” and you’re given no less than 5,020,000,000 results. We’ve created quite a few Facebook resources ourselves over the past couple of years.

But having it all consolidated in one spot is convenient, and having a hub like this from Facebook itself should ensure that the information is all correct and up-to-date. There have been so many times that I needed to find something about Facebook marketing and the first 20 resources I looked at were too outdated to be helpful.

This also brings Facebook up to pace with its competition. Twitter has a similar hub called Twitter for Business, which features a lot of similar resources (but for Twitter, of course) and even has case studies from some of the same companies. LinkedIn often has learning webinars, an FAQ page for company pages, and other resources, though they’re not all in one place yet.

So, what do you think of Facebook’s new business hub? Do you think you’ll be able to find inspiration and information from it to make your marketing better? Let us know in the comments!
