Since we started using computer we seem to have always been fighting different types of viruses. I guess it was only a matter of time before this problem moved to mobile devices. It’s seems as if the mobile revolution has started a new era in viruses that are designed to install harmful code on different types of mobile devices.
As with computer some of the proprietary devices have made is easier to be protected and other are more open to help spread these types of attacks.

Over the years I’m sure you’ve had to deal with email attachments and links to doggy websites that can install malware and viruses. Another way that this can happen is with Bluetooth yes not something that you would think about. But, many people leave Bluetooth open which leave it an easy vehicle for infection. In terms of two-way communication it’s a great tool to use for printing photos, transferring music/files etc. but this is also an easy way to trick a user into downloading a virus without actually realising it.

Mobile security is going to be key as we move more away from the PC/Laptop and keep more and more personal information on our devices.
With different software of course they have different features but at the end of the day they all offer security and virus protection. Some software will block unwanted calls it will also alert you if there are any changes to apps and software installed on your phone. It will also offer memory scanning and I guess so many other features that we could be here all day talking about it. The most important thing is that you need to start thinking about it and considering getting protection.
What should you avoid?
First don’t install software that you are not 100% sure of, this includes pirated software, apps from websites you’re not sure about. Updated apps can sometimes can issues if not downloaded from the original source. Email attachments of course, make sure you know the source before clicking.
Make sure you keep the antivirus software updated this is key, updates are always been pushed to counteract treats. Ensuring you’re mobile device operating system software is patched and update can also prevent issues.
