NASA has released the largest picture ever taken. The photograph features the Andromeda Galaxy, captured with an amazing 1.5 billion pixels.
The photograph in this post may not be very impressive, that’s because it would take 600 HD TVs to show the full image in all of its stunning beauty.
The photograph was released on January 5, but began to garner attention the next day after NASA released a “fly-by” video that showcases the photos truly magnificent scope.
The YouTube fly-through shows the amazing detail of the picture captured by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope. The video has received more than 3.7 million views to date.
The full 1.5 billion pixel photograph showcases 100 million stars and travels more than 40,000 light-years.
Keep this fact in mind when you view the YouTube video from Nasa — each of the white dots in the video is a sun.
