The Withings Activité Pop proves once again that the company understands fitness and overall health tracking, while still staying in touch with design elements that consumers can appreciate as part of their everyday life. Unlike the original Withings Activité which rang up with a price tag of $450, the Pop is 1/3 the price.
The face of the Activité Pop looks almost identical to the original Activité. Both feature a large analogue clock. In the lower right corner there’s a second analogue dial which indicates how close you are to your daily goal (X number of steps for example).
While it may look like a normal watch on the outside, the Activité Pop features no external buttons, instead it is controlled by a users iOS app. Changing time-zones? The watch automatically changes the time for you.
The Activité Pop also features a vibrating motor that provides users with silent alarms.
Just like the original device, the Activité Pop tracks your steps and it can tell if you are walking, running, and even swimming. The Activité Pop is waterproof up to 30 meters (98 feet). The watch logs the duration of each activity and it offers automatic sleep detection. The watch uses sleep tracking to tell users if they were engaged in a light or heavy sleep.
The company says the standard watch battery in the Pop should last 8 months before needing to be replaced.
Perhaps the best part of the device? It looks like a standard watch, and a fairly sleek one at that. While a Calif-leather band was available with the original watch, Withings has opted at this time to only offer the Activité Pop with a silicone band.
The company has also replaced the original watches sapphire glass with a softer mineral glass.
The Pop is available in “Bright Azure” (blue), “Elegant Sand” and “Shark Grey.”
The Withings Activité Pop is just $150 USD. It might not be as durable as the original, but the price point is hard to ignore.
