Users of TweetDeck can once again translation tweets in foreign languages. While Bing Translator isn’t an exact translation, it can prove useful. With the ability to read a quick tweet in other languages about live events international moments will be more available to the public.
Using the translator is relatively simple, there will be a link that appears on the Tweet that says, “Translate Tweet” once clicked the translation will happen instantly.
According to random comments on Twitter the Bing Translator came back near the first of the year. A spokesperson for Twitter confirmed the re-launch, but declined to comment further.
The experiment with Bing translations started in July 2013, and it was made available via iOS and Android apps in 2014 (right before the FIFA World Cup.) However, the translations were removed from all platforms in August that same year.
With the return of translations to TweetDeck, which was a favorite tool for Twitter power users, it is a good sign that they are testing out the waters before releasing it to other platforms once again.
