Nintendo 2014 Sales

Nintendo’s 2014 holiday sales in Japan have dominated the competition, which consist of Sony and Microsoft. The House of Mario has made a comeback this year, and what they sold over the Japanese holiday season is proof of that.

Eight of the top ten video game spots are games for Nintendo systems, with number one spot belonging to the Japanese exclusive ‘Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi’. The only other game in the top 10 for Japan’s holiday sales chart that isn’t for a Nintendo console is ‘Gundam Breaker 2′ for PS3 and PS Vita.

The New Nintendo 3DS was the hottest system, followed by the Wii U. The PS Vita outsold the PS4, and the Xbox One only sold 1,162 systems.

With the year they had, it’s not surprising to see Nintendo’s 2014 holiday sales doing better than Sony and Microsoft. Are you shocked by Nintendo’s dominant holiday season performance in Japan?
